All Hallow’s Eve

The waning moon watches the revelers’ scurry about calling for tricks or treats
A shadow moves against the darkness. Stray cat cuddles up against the chimney.
The veil between the world’s grows thin.
The lost heart awakens after the dumb supper seeking the lost soul.
Where have you gone?
Can you see me now!
I miss you so much.
The mist rises and nothing can ever be the same.
The geese call out as they fly over the river and the owl hunts over the warren.
All hallow’s eve has begun.

The Moon When Ducks Fly

A rare celestial moment will be happening over the next three days. A Full Harvest Moon sails in Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. On Sunday, the Moon will be in full lunar eclipse sometimes called the Blood Moon. The Moon will be in the Earth’s shadow giving it a slightly reddish tinge. This all makes for one Super Moon. The next one will not occur until 2033. Optimum viewing time for the lunar eclipse will be between 9 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. EST. The full eclipse will be at 11:23 p.m.

Native American folklore refer to this first full moon after the fall equinox as the Moon When Ducks Fly. Our feathered friends are flocking and moving out to warmer winter feeding grounds. The hummingbirds, wood thrush, and cat bird are already gone. The leaves are starting to turn color. Nights are cool.

Harvest time is here. A moment to gather what has been planted. A time to tidy and put away for the season. Consider what is to be done, what is to be let go, and what is to be celebrated. The sun is in Libra, a time to balance and appreciate the beauty of nature.

Libra Sun ~ Fall Equinox

An auspicious day in the year has arrived. Not only do we roll into Fall but into Libra Sun ~ September 23 – October 23.

A time to harvest and store for the long cold to come. Save what the good Earth has given us. Give thanks for her generosity.

The Sun enters the constellation Libra under the protection of the Venus. Libras are noted as striving for balance and harmony, for cultivating relationships carefully, and fighting for just causes. Libras love nature and beauty in all forms. They are driven by a desire for fairness, compassion and artistic expression.

We are at the Wheel of the Year. Change is on the horizon.
